Wide Open Bike Show 2017

With a lot of cabin fever going around and temps in the 50’s it was
a perfect weekend for grabbing a couple buddies, firing up the old mo- torcycles and cruising up north to check out the Wide Open Bike Show. As always Ralph did a fantastic job of filling up the 72,000 sq. ft. Expo Center with bikes, reality TV stars and quality venders that had every- thing from a badass swap meet to reasonably priced leather goods to a raffle for the Kansas City Fallen Heroes.
There’s no doubt to the amount of talent that was displayed at this year’s Bike Show. All 30 classes were crammed with some of the wildest and craziest machines, including the most expensive antiques rolling around on two wheels. Everyone found something to point a finger at and a lot of that finger pointing was directed towards the bikes in American Bagger/Urban Bagger Magazine’s “Baddest Bagger in Kansas City Competition”. Kansas City is one of their 18 competitions across the nation and we’re glad they call our Show their home in Kansas City.
For the last 10 years Wide Open Bike Shows have attracted some of the best bike builders and custom bike shops around. Coming out to the show insures you have seen the latest in the custom bike world and have had a chance to talk with the guys who set the trends.
These Custom bike builders have taken full advantage of all the lat- est technology, like being able to take their handmade drawing of a prototype front wheel down to the local machine shop, have it con- verted to a technical drawing, then loaded into a computer controlled
